Corn: July corn closed up 4 1/4 cents Thursday after trading in a volatile 18-cent range as the ongoing drought in central Brazil is expected to continue into mid-May. Soybeans: July soybeans closed down 11 1/2 cents, 24 cents below the overnight high, as expiring May soybean oil plunged. Wheat: July Chicago wheat closed up 6 1/4 cents ahead of first notice day for May delivery and on continued dryness in the Western and northern wheat areas. Cotton: July cotton futures plunged, closing lower for the second straight day and down 2.98 cents. Live Cattle: June live cattle futures closed with a modest gain of $0.600 following lower closes in four of the past five days as the bearish pattern continues. (c) Copyright 2021 DTN, LLC.
