Corn: July corn closed up 14 1/2 cents on huge fund buying to a new contract high Wednesday as the drought in Brazil's safrinha corn area is expected to extend into the first week in May. Soybeans: July soybeans again soared to another new contract high on fund buying, closing up 21 3/4 cents, with bean oil scoring a new high as well. Wheat: July Chicago wheat closed 13 3/4 cents higher on the freeze warnings that may have damaged both hard and soft red winter wheat. Cotton: July cotton futures closed up 1.06 cents Wednesday and for the second straight day, finished just slightly below the 50-day moving average. Live Cattle: June live cattle futures plunged, closing lower for the eighth time in the past nine days, down $1.95, and under the 100-day moving average for the first time since November.
