Corn: July corn closed another 13 1/2 cents higher on Friday to another contract high, again fueled by extreme drought in Brazil's safrinha corn region, and a huge China purchase of 53.4 million bushels of new crop. Soybeans: July soybeans finished up 20 1/4 cents on Friday, setting another new contract high on tight supplies. Wheat: July Chicago wheat closed up 8 1/2 cents in sympathy with corn, and on continued drought in the northern Plains and Canada. Cotton: July cotton futures fell in quiet trade, closing down 0.92 cents after two consecutive higher closes. Live Cattle: June live cattle futures closed higher on Friday for the third straight day, closing up $0.550. (c) Copyright 2021 DTN, LLC. All rights reserved. |
